Iceland isn’t the ideal breeding ground for elite snowboarders, but Halldor (along with Brother Eiki) pulled it off through sheer determination. Hours spent hitting handmade rail lines behind an ice rink helped craft some amazing technical ability, bolstered by time spent at a specialist snowboard school.
While he’s immensely capable of racking up contest wins – including a perfect score at the X Games – he’s just as likely to take the piss; maybe he’ll bust a beautiful method in the big air, or perhaps a triple jerk flip.
